What's Happening?
Tia Chucha’s Centro Cultural, founded in 2001 by Luis Rodriguez, is the only independent bookstore in the northeast San Fernando Valley. It has relocated multiple times due to rising rent costs but remains a vital community space for promoting literacy
and cultural celebration among San Fernando Valley residents. The bookstore emphasizes Chicano and Latino authors and serves as a cultural hub where community members gather to honor and construct new parts of their identities.
