Andhra Pradesh is set to introduce formal courses in quantum technology as part of its strategy to lead in next-generation computing and artificial intelligence. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced
the initiative following discussions with a delegation from IIT Madras. The state aims to equip students with skills in quantum computing and AI, which are deemed crucial for India's competitiveness in global tech markets. The plan includes a four-phase rollout over two years, starting next year, to provide structured exposure to AI and emerging technologies. The initiative will extend to government schools, focusing on students in Classes 7 to 9, and aims to train over 50,000 technology students by January 2026. The state also plans to host a Students Partnership Summit to foster innovation and industry connections.
