Gregorie was operating a snowmobile when he lost control and collided with a pile of logs. A 16-year-old boy, riding a separate snowmobile behind Gregorie, also hit the log pile. Both teenagers were ejected from their vehicles, and the younger teen's snowmobile landed on Gregorie. Despite being rushed to Wyoming County Community Hospital, Gregorie was pronounced dead.
