HealthEx and Anthropic have introduced a groundbreaking integration that allows users of Claude Pro and Max to securely link their medical records from over 50,000 provider organizations directly to the AI.
This partnership utilizes the federal Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) and a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) to offer personalized health summaries and lab interpretations. Importantly, the integration ensures that sensitive patient data is not used for model training. HealthEx acts as a connector to consolidate patient history through FHIR patient-access APIs and federal interoperability infrastructure, addressing the issue of fragmented data across the healthcare system. The MCP server enables Claude to retrieve only the necessary portions of a record to answer specific user queries, enhancing privacy and efficiency.
