What's Happening?
Beyon, a technology group based in Bahrain, has announced the completion of its second fully green data centre, powered entirely by solar energy. This development is part of the third phase of the Beyon Solar
Park, in collaboration with Almoayyed Solar. The data centre, located in Hamala, is now powered by a large-scale solar system that spans over 13,000 square meters and includes 2,588 high-efficiency solar panels. This setup generates approximately 2.5 GWh of clean energy annually, significantly reducing carbon emissions. The initiative aligns with Beyon's sustainability goals and enhances energy resilience for businesses.
Why It's Important?
The establishment of a fully green data centre by Beyon represents a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions in the technology sector. By utilizing 100% renewable energy, the data centre not only reduces carbon emissions but also sets a precedent for other companies in the region to follow. This move could encourage more investments in renewable energy infrastructure, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change. Additionally, the enhanced energy resilience provided by the solar-powered data centre ensures reliable operations for businesses, supporting economic growth and technological advancement.
