What's Happening?
Teledyne Gavia, a division of Teledyne Technologies, has delivered four GAVIA autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). This delivery is part of a framework agreement signed in February of the previous
year, aimed at modernizing the Swedish Armed Forces' fleet with advanced underwater surveillance technology. The GAVIA AUVs are designed for a variety of applications, including mine countermeasures, hydrography, intelligence gathering, and seabed mapping. They feature a modular architecture that allows for quick adaptation to different missions and can operate at depths of up to 1,000 meters. The latest systems are equipped with EdgeTech 2205 side-scan sonar and Teledyne Flir Blackfly-S cameras, enhancing their surveillance capabilities.
