SMART Technologies has launched SoundFlow, a new audio accessibility solution designed to broadcast classroom audio directly from SMART Board displays to students' personal listening devices. This plug-and-play system allows compatible hearing aids, earbuds,
headphones, and other personal listening devices to receive audio content from the display. SoundFlow connects via USB to SMART Board displays running iQ4, eliminating the need for complex wall wiring or installation. Teachers can manage access, set passwords, and control the broadcast range through the iQ4 interface. When paired with SMART SoundLift, the company's classroom microphone system, SoundFlow can combine the teacher's voice with lesson audio from the SMART Board into a single audio stream. Sara Murray, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer at SMART Technologies, emphasized that SoundFlow aims to ensure every student can clearly hear lessons without singling anyone out or adding complexity for educators, making clearer, more accessible audio part of the everyday classroom experience.
