The Gorton Center in Lake Forest held its 18th Annual Oktoberfest on October 18, featuring traditional German food, music, and activities. The event, which serves as the center's only fundraiser of the year,
took place under a tent in the parking lot and included offerings such as Schnitzel sliders, beer brats, and German potato pancakes. Entertainment was provided by the Chicago area band Die Musikmeisters, along with dance instructors Brenda Good and Elizabeth Bushell, who led polka and German folk dance lessons. The event attracted approximately 200 guests, with ticket prices set at $150 per person, increasing to $175 after October 1st. The proceeds from the event support the Gorton Center's cultural and educational programs, which have been a staple in the community since 1974.
