The Merck Foundation, in collaboration with the First Lady of the Central African Republic, H.E. Madam Brigitte Touadera, participated in the 12th Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary conference. The event,
co-chaired by Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation, and the First Lady of Gambia, focused on discussing strategies for 2026. The conference highlighted the ongoing partnership between Merck Foundation and the Central African Republic, which began in 2015. This collaboration has provided scholarships for local doctors in oncology and diabetes, aiming to enhance healthcare capacity. Additionally, the Merck Foundation's Education Linda program offers annual scholarships to 40 underprivileged schoolgirls, promoting education and empowerment. The event also featured discussions on breaking infertility stigma and raising awareness about male infertility.
