A motorist was rescued and taken to a hospital after a car accident in Rochester, Minnesota, where the vehicle flipped upside down into the Zumbro River. The incident occurred near 6th Street SW just before midnight on Thursday. Rochester Fire Department
crews responded to the scene and found the vehicle in 2-3 feet of water. The driver, an adult female, was able to walk through the water to safety with the help of firefighters. She was later assessed by Mayo Clinic Ambulance crew and taken to a hospital. The driver sustained minor injuries and was subsequently booked into the Olmsted County Jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI). Significant damage to the vehicle and the riverbank railing was reported.
