What's Happening?
Fincantieri has launched the first next-generation Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) for the Italian Navy at its Riva Trigoso shipyard. The vessel, named Ugolino Vivaldi, is part of a four-ship program led by Orizzonte Sistemi Navali, a joint venture between
Fincantieri and Leonardo. The OPV features advanced automation and maneuverability systems, designed for a range of tactical scenarios. It measures 95 meters in length, with a displacement of 2,400 tonnes, and can accommodate 93 crew members. The vessel's integrated naval cockpit allows for efficient control of various systems, enhancing operational capabilities.
