Robert J. Smith, a beloved resident of Highland Park, has passed away at the age of 89. He was a devoted husband to Susan Smith for 66 years and a loving father to Rick, Lauri, and Jody. Known affectionately as 'Papa Silly' by his grandchildren, Robert was a cherished
great-grandfather and a dear friend to many, including his caregiver Romar. A memorial service is scheduled to take place at Am Shalom in Glencoe, Illinois, and will be available via livestream. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Parks Foundation of Highland Park or the Amyloidosis Foundation.
