What's Happening?
WOSU Public Media's 89.7 NPR News radio station has been recognized as a top winner in the 2026 Ohio Society of Professional Journalists Awards. The station received five awards, including first place for Best Reporter and Best Business/Consumer Reporting,
both awarded to George Shillcock. Additionally, the station earned second-place honors for Best Enterprise Reporting, Best Investigative Reporting, and Best Arts/Entertainment Reporting. The awards are sponsored by the Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus Society of Professional Journalists chapters and honor journalists who uphold the SPJ mission, which includes defending the First Amendment and advocating for openness in public records and meetings.
