What's Happening?
Mountain America Credit Union has donated $11,500 to Operation Warm, a national nonprofit providing new coats and shoes to underserved youth. The funds were raised through partnerships with Idaho State University Athletics and the Idaho Falls Spud Kings
hockey team. Mountain America pledged $50 for each 3-point shot by the Idaho State men's basketball team and each goal by the Spud Kings, resulting in donations of $6,000 and $5,500, respectively. This initiative reflects Mountain America's commitment to community support, having contributed over 5,000 coats and 2,800 pairs of shoes since 2019.
Why It's Important?
This collaboration highlights the role of community partnerships in addressing social needs, particularly for children in underserved areas. By linking sports performance to charitable donations, Mountain America Credit Union effectively engages local communities and raises awareness for Operation Warm's mission. Such initiatives not only provide essential clothing to children but also foster a sense of community involvement and support. The credit union's ongoing contributions demonstrate the potential for financial institutions to drive positive social change through strategic partnerships and community-focused programs.
