The U.S. Department of Energy is transforming the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Kentucky into a $100 billion AI data center complex, including a new natural gas and battery storage power plant. This initiative is part of a broader effort to leverage
artificial intelligence for national security and economic growth. Brookfield Asset Management has been selected to develop and operate the data center, with NextEra Energy building the power generation components.
