What's Happening?
Seven NATO members, including Croatia, Poland, Belgium, France, Spain, Turkey, and the UK, have announced plans to explore a pooling and sharing initiative for the Airbus Defence & Space A400M tactical transport aircraft. This initiative aims to address
strategic airlift capability gaps among European allies and establish a multinational fleet. The proposal, unveiled at the NATO Summit in Ankara, envisions cooperation in areas such as maintenance, training support, infrastructure, and procurement. The A400M fleet is expected to enhance operational flexibility for NATO and allied forces, supporting missions like air-to-air refueling, disaster relief, medical evacuation, and firefighting.
