What's Happening?
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has commenced the self slot selection process for the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSL) 2025 Tier-I. Candidates can now log in to the SSC portal to choose their preferred exam city, date, and shift
based on availability. This facility is available from October 22 to October 28, providing candidates with more flexibility in scheduling their exams. The SSC's move aims to make the examination process more candidate-friendly by allowing them to select slots that best fit their schedules. The Commission has also released a revised schedule for the CHSL Tier-I examination, which will now be conducted from November 12, 2025, across multiple centers nationwide. This comes after the initial exam dates were postponed, causing uncertainty among candidates.
Why It's Important?
The self slot selection process introduced by the SSC is crucial for enhancing the candidate experience and reducing logistical challenges associated with exam scheduling. By allowing candidates to choose their exam slots, the SSC is addressing common issues such as scheduling conflicts and lack of flexibility, which have been a source of stress for many aspirants. This change is expected to improve the overall efficiency of the examination process and reduce administrative burdens. The revised exam dates provide clarity and certainty for candidates who were previously left uncertain due to postponements. Candidates who do not participate in the slot selection process risk losing the opportunity to appear for the exam, emphasizing the importance of timely action.
What's Next?
Candidates must complete their self slot selection by October 28 to secure their preferred exam slots. After this deadline, no further changes will be allowed, and those who do not participate in the selection process will be considered as opting out of the exam. The SSC will conduct the computer-based test (CBT) for CHSL Tier-I from November 12, 2025, across multiple centers nationwide. Candidates are advised to regularly check the SSC portal for updates and notifications regarding the exam schedule and other important information.
