Barbara C. Hickey, a long-time resident of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, at the age of 88. Hickey was a dedicated educator, having taught in Chicago area schools for 34 years, with a focus on special education. After retiring, she volunteered for 20 years at the Cancer Institute at Alexian Brothers Hospital. She was also a member and past President of the Des Plaines Junior Women's Club. Hickey is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held at St. Zachary Parish in Des Plaines, followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery.
