Jackie, a well-known bald eagle from Big Bear Valley, California, has died after suffering from a blood clot and deteriorating blood values. Jackie was under intensive care at the Ojai Raptor Center, where she was treated for severe anemia, low blood protein,
and kidney and lung abnormalities. Despite receiving a blood transfusion and showing temporary improvement, her condition worsened, leading to her death. A necropsy was performed, and her remains will be sent to the National Eagle Repository for distribution to federally recognized tribes for cultural purposes.
