Israel's national water company, Mekorot, has announced a significant investment to double the water supply to Eilat and its surrounding areas. The project, estimated to cost NIS 800 million, involves expanding the capacity of the Sabcha desalination

Of the total investment, NIS 500 million will be allocated to the desalination plant expansion, while NIS 300 million will be used for building supporting infrastructure.
