China has successfully launched two Long March rockets, the 6A and 8, adding 36 satellites to the Qianfan constellation, a project led by Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology (SSST). The launches took
place on June 4 and 5, 2026, from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center and the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, respectively. These launches mark the 11th and 12th for the Qianfan project, which now boasts 200 satellites in orbit. The Qianfan constellation aims to provide global users with low-latency, high-speed, and ultra-reliable satellite broadband internet services. The recent launches are part of China's broader goal to conduct over 100 orbital launches in 2026, showcasing its growing capabilities in space technology.
