Arkansas is in the process of recruiting its first chief artificial intelligence officer (CAIO) to lead the development and implementation of the state's AI strategy. This move follows recommendations
from the AI and Analytics Center of Excellence, which emphasized the need for a dedicated officer to guide AI adoption and governance. The CAIO will be responsible for establishing an AI governance framework, maintaining an inventory of AI use cases, and coordinating with public and private partners. The position will be housed within the Office of State Technology and will report to executive leadership.
