Margareta H. Dahlgren, a longtime resident of Fairport, New York, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on April 7, 2026. Born in Boden, Sweden, Margareta was raised on a military base and developed a love for art, music, nature, and horse riding. After
assisting military engineers, she traveled to England and the United States, where she met and married Yngve S. Dahlgren. Both became proud U.S. citizens. Margareta served as a crossing guard with the Fairport Police Department and worked in retail furniture sales until retirement. She was known for her knitting, creating hundreds of sweaters that she generously gave away. Margareta is survived by her children and grandchildren, and a private gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
