Hensoldt, a German defense technology company, has partnered with Avilus to integrate its PrecISR radar onto the Bussard unmanned aircraft system (UAS). The PrecISR radar, an active electronically scanned array (AESA) operating in X-band, is designed
to detect and track over 1,000 objects simultaneously, providing high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery. The collaboration aims to develop advanced sensor and ISR systems, enhancing the capabilities of Avilus' UASs for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions. The Bussard UAS, equipped with electro-optic/infrared gimbals and laser designators, is capable of close air support and has a maximum range of 2,500 km.
