utilize AI in their professional practice, up from previous years. The survey, which included nearly 1,700 physician respondents, revealed an average of 2.3 AI use cases per physician, compared to 1.1 in 2023. The most common applications of AI among these physicians include documenting clinical care and summarizing medical research. The AMA also noted a rise in the use of AI for summarizing research and standards of care, which increased by 26 percentage points to 39%. Despite the growing confidence and excitement surrounding AI, there remains a level of caution, particularly concerning patient privacy and potential skill loss due to reliance on AI.
