What's Happening?
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated its Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 6,922 MW of solar module capacity in October 2025. This addition brings the total enlisted capacity to 116,467 MW. The update includes increased capacities from companies such as Gautam Solar, Bluebird Solar, Goldi Solar, and Rayzon Solar. Additionally, Solitech Green Energy has entered the list with a capacity of 1,321 MW. This expansion follows MNRE's release of the first edition of its ALMM List-II for solar PV cells in July 2025, which enlisted 13,066 MW of domestic manufacturing capacity across six manufacturers and nine units. In September 2025, Tata Power added 4,813 MW of solar cell capacity through TP Solar and Tata Power Renewable Energy, increasing its total capacity to 17,839 MW.
