What's Happening?
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has announced the selection of 30 young leaders for its 2026-2027 Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme. This initiative aims to empower young changemakers from 24 countries across all ITU regions,
chosen from over 6,700 applicants. The program is designed to support these individuals in developing and implementing digital development projects within their communities. Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau, expressed confidence in the fellows' ability to translate innovative ideas into practical solutions. The program, now in its third intake, seeks to enhance youth participation in shaping the future of digital development, with support from partners like Huawei.
