The Augusta area is celebrating its high school athletes with a poll to determine the Athlete of the Week for Week 8. The poll, which is open until Sunday, October 12, features standout performances from various sports, including football, volleyball, and softball. Notable performances include Jaylen Stone from Westside football, who threw for 221 passing yards and a touchdown, and Tamari Curry, also from Westside, who rushed for 124 yards and scored three touchdowns. In volleyball, Alley McBride from Alleluia recorded 57 kills over 14 sets, while Reese Janik had 105 assists. The poll aims to recognize the achievements of these young athletes and is open to public voting.
