India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with Taqbit Labs, has successfully tested a quantum key distribution (QKD) system for military communications. The trials, announced on social media, aim to develop a large-scale,
multi-hop quantum network for secure communications. Taqbit Labs, a Bangalore-based technology firm, has been working with DRDO since 2020 to advance QKD systems for the Indian Armed Forces. The partnership focuses on integrating these systems into existing military networks and establishing a secure, self-contained tactical network.
