The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), in partnership with Sletten Construction, has provided updates on ongoing bridge construction projects in central Montana. Work is progressing on several bridges, including the Deadman’s Basin Canal Bridge
on Secondary Highway 297, the Dry Wolf Creek Bridge on Montana Highway 81, and drainage structures on MT 81. For the Deadman’s Basin Canal Bridge, concrete beams have been installed, and crews will continue foundation work. At the Dry Wolf Creek Bridge, the concrete pour for the bridge deck is complete, with roadway construction set to begin. Traffic is currently traveling on gravel surfaces over new box culverts at two drainage structures on MT 81, with paving scheduled for the fall. All work is subject to weather conditions and other unforeseen factors. Traffic control measures, including reduced speeds and shoulder closures, are in place across all construction zones, and brief single-lane closures may be required. Crews are typically on-site from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with work pausing for holidays such as Labor Day.
