A woman from Munster was hospitalized after being shot in the face during an incident on Saturday evening. The Munster Police Department responded to a call at approximately 9:45 p.m. on July 11, at the 9300 block of Chestnut Lane. Upon arrival, officers
found the woman injured and the suspected shooter still inside the residence. The Northwest Regional SWAT team was called to the scene and successfully negotiated the suspect's surrender without further incident. The victim was initially taken to a local hospital and later transferred to the University of Chicago Hospital. The suspect has been taken into custody and is currently held at the Lake County Jail.
