Andhra Pradesh is set to introduce formal courses in quantum technology as part of a strategic initiative to position the state at the forefront of next-generation computing and artificial intelligence. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the plan
following discussions with a delegation from IIT Madras. The initiative aims to equip students with skills in quantum computing and AI, which are deemed critical for India's future competitiveness in global technology markets. The program will be rolled out in four phases over two years, starting next year, and will provide structured exposure to AI and emerging technologies at various educational levels. The plan includes the establishment of computer laboratories in schools and the integration of these initiatives into government schools, focusing on students in Classes 7, 8, and 9. The state also plans to host a Students Partnership Summit in January 2026 to foster innovation and collaboration between students, academia, and industry.
