What's Happening?
Gardner White, a leading furniture and mattress retailer in Michigan, has partnered with the Children's Foundation of Michigan to launch the 'Bring It Home for Kids' campaign. This statewide initiative aims to enhance early childhood development by expanding
access to language, literacy, and family support programs. The campaign is designed to ensure that more children in Michigan enter kindergarten healthy, confident, and ready to succeed. From July 9 to August 4, Gardner White will donate $50 to the Children's Foundation for every qualifying in-store purchase of $500 or more. The funds raised will be used to improve access to early childhood education, healthcare, and family support services, as well as to increase developmental screenings and grow early learning programs across the state.
Why It's Important?
The 'Bring It Home for Kids' campaign addresses a critical need for early childhood development resources in Michigan. By focusing on the formative years before kindergarten, the initiative aims to lay a strong foundation for lifelong success in education and health. This effort is particularly significant as 90% of brain development occurs by age five, making early intervention crucial. The campaign not only supports individual children and families but also contributes to the broader goal of creating stronger communities. By investing in early childhood development, Gardner White and the Children's Foundation are working to close the gap in access to quality resources, which can have long-term positive effects on Michigan's educational and economic landscape.
What's Next?
Following the campaign, the funds raised will be distributed through the Children's Foundation of Michigan's established grantmaking process. Organizations interested in applying for funding will be invited to submit proposals, ensuring that the resources are allocated to programs with the greatest potential impact. Additionally, Gardner White is hosting a sweepstakes as part of the campaign, offering Michigan residents the chance to win experiences such as Detroit Lions season tickets and a $5,000 shopping spree. This initiative not only aims to support early childhood development but also to engage the community in celebrating Michigan's unique culture and traditions.
