What's Happening?
The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) has initiated the CARE-R Project, aimed at improving the resilience and mental health of aged-care workers in regional and rural communities. This project
addresses the growing issue of psychosocial injuries in the sector, which are often caused by stress, burnout, and trauma exposure. Funded by the Applied Research Grants Program through TAFE Queensland's TAFE Centre of Excellence Health Care and Support, the project will develop resources such as a Leadership Workshop and an open-access digital platform. These resources are designed to help aged-care workers and managers identify and manage workplace stressors, ultimately creating safer and more supportive work environments. The project is a collaboration with Southern Cross Care and Ozcare, impacting over 60 sites and 6,000 staff across Queensland.
