What's Happening?
Mass General Brigham for Children (MGfC) is actively engaged in a wide array of research initiatives aimed at improving the health and development of infants, children, and adolescents. A significant focus is on allergy and immunology, particularly the prevention
of food allergies. Dr. Michael Pistiner leads a program dedicated to expanding early childhood diets to include common allergens in high-risk infants, collaborating with primary care pediatricians in the MGH/Partners network. This program aims to develop a national model for allergy prevention. MGfC is also a site for an NIAID-funded prevention study led by Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, the Food Allergy Center at Massachusetts General Hospital (FAC@MGH) has initiated over 50 IRB-approved studies on food allergy, involving nearly 3,000 research participants. These studies include randomized interventional trials funded by NIAID, demonstrating the center's capacity for rigorous clinical research.
