What's Happening?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the creation of 55 new missions, set to be effective from July 1, 2026. This expansion is in response to the increasing number of young members
choosing to serve full-time missions. The new missions will be established by adjusting the boundaries of existing ones, bringing the total number of missions worldwide to 506. The Church aims to better accommodate the growing number of missionaries, which has risen from over 65,000 at the end of 2022 to more than 84,000 currently. These missionaries serve in over 150 countries and communicate in more than 60 languages.
