CNN, Svitek was part of The Washington Post's politics team, where he covered the 2024 presidential election and the transition to President Trump's second term. His career also includes nearly a decade of reporting on Texas politics, where he worked for the Houston Chronicle and the Texas Tribune, covering state legislature and statewide elections. Svitek is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and resides in Washington, DC.
