What's Happening?
A new intrusion detection system (IDS) for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has been developed using an Osprey Optimization Algorithm (OOA) integrated with Graph Neural Networks (GNNs). This system aims
to improve the security of WSNs by selecting optimal features and classifying data more accurately. The OOA, inspired by the hunting behavior of ospreys, is adapted to explore high-dimensional feature spaces effectively. It selects relevant features for intrusion detection, while the GNN processes these features to capture spatial and temporal dependencies within the network. The system was tested using the WSN-DS dataset, which is known for its realistic simulation of sensor-level behavior under attack conditions. The IDS achieved a classification accuracy of 99.68%, outperforming traditional machine learning models.
