Regional One Health has announced the selection of Memphis Healthcare Builders, a joint venture team, to construct a new $1 billion academic medical center in Memphis, Tennessee. The team comprises Turner Construction, Flintco Construction, Nickson General Contractors, and Fifer & Associates. The new facility will expand Regional One's hospital system, which includes the only adult Level 1 Trauma Center within 150 miles and the only verified Burn Center within 400 miles. The project will feature a new bed tower and modernized ancillary services suites. Shelby County has pledged $500 million towards the project, with additional funding expected from philanthropy and other sources.
