ArcelorMittal, a leading steel and mining company, has announced the expansion of its renewable energy projects in India, adding 1 GW of solar and wind capacity. This development will double the company's renewable energy capacity in India to 2 GW and increase
its global capacity to 3.3 GW. The projects involve a capital expenditure of approximately $0.9 billion and will supply power to AMNS India, a joint venture with Nippon Steel. The projects include a 36 MW solar project in Maharashtra, a 400 MW solar plus battery storage project in Rajasthan, and a combined wind and solar project in Gujarat.
