What's Happening?
Alice Jo Maisel Lichtman, a pioneer in computer science, passed away at the age of 88. Lichtman was one of the few women in her class to earn a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She had a successful career in software design, developing programs for Fortune 500 companies. Lichtman was recognized as a Distinguished Alumna and was a mentor to young women entering the field. She and her husband created an endowment to support women in computing at RIT.
