Cecelia Carol Mills, a dedicated educator and community member, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 22, 1941, in Gainesville, NY, Cecelia pursued a career in education
after graduating from Letchworth Central School and earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from Buffalo State College. She furthered her studies at SUNY Geneseo. Cecelia taught home economics at Keshequa Central School in Nunda, NY, and later worked as a remedial reading teacher in Dalton. Her passion for music and theatre was evident through her involvement in school musicals. A devoted member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in East Rochester, NY, Cecelia's faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was also a member of the Eastern Star chapter in Fillmore, NY. In 1993, she married Charles Mills aboard his sailboat, sharing many boating adventures. Cecelia enjoyed gardening, baking with her grandchildren, antiquing, and collecting dolls. She is survived by her husband, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
