What's Happening?
N3X Labs, a defense startup based in Pune, has developed a new concept for launching unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that aims to reduce the vulnerability of launch crews in contested environments. The 'shoot-and-scoot' tactic allows personnel to quickly
relocate after launching UAVs, minimizing exposure to counter-attacks. The concept involves mounting the launcher on a High Mobility Vehicle (HMV), enabling rapid deployment and displacement. This approach is currently designed for N3X's Wrath UAVs but could be adapted for other UAVs. The system features a modular quick-swap magazine architecture and decouples fire-control functions from mechanical aiming, reducing crew training requirements.
