What's Happening?
Sallaum Lines has expanded its fleet with the delivery of two new Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs), MV Ocean Express and MV Ocean Navigator. These vessels are part of the company's Ocean Class fleet and are powered by LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems,
offering significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, the vessels are designed to accommodate a wide range of cargo, enhancing Sallaum Lines' capacity to support global trade. The delivery underscores the company's commitment to modern, sustainable shipping operations.
Why It's Important?
The addition of LNG-powered vessels to Sallaum Lines' fleet represents a significant step towards sustainable shipping practices. By investing in energy-efficient technologies, the company is aligning with global efforts to reduce emissions in the maritime industry. This expansion also enhances Sallaum Lines' ability to meet growing demand for reliable RoRo capacity, particularly in the China-Europe trade corridor. The move reflects broader industry trends towards sustainability and the adoption of cleaner technologies in response to regulatory pressures and environmental concerns.
