What's Happening?
Astrophotographer Greg Meyer has captured a striking image of a nebula that resembles a baboon in deep space. The nebula, located in the constellation Corona Australis, is composed of molecular dust and blue reflection nebulas, creating the appearance of a baboon's face. Meyer used an Esprit 120mm telescope and a QHY 268M astronomy camera to capture the image over 13 nights. The nebula is situated near the globular cluster NGC 6723, which contains hundreds of thousands of stars. The image required 16.5 hours of observation time and was edited using Photoshop, Lightroom, and Pixinsight.
