Ohio University has received a $10 million grant from Ohio’s Rural Health Transformation Program to lead a statewide initiative aimed at strengthening the rural health care workforce. The funding will support Health Workforce Ohio, a strategy designed
to connect health care employers, educational institutions, and community organizations to recruit, train, and retain health professionals in rural areas. The initiative will focus on expanding health care career exploration, growing apprenticeship programs, and increasing training in telehealth and digital health technologies. Ohio University President Lori Stewart Gonzalez emphasized the importance of this investment in improving access to quality health care in underserved communities.
