The community of St. Peters, Missouri, is coming together to honor Marvin 'Mark' Sloan, a Korean War veteran and five-time Purple Heart recipient, with a military funeral. Sloan, who passed away at the age of 94, had no remaining family to arrange his
funeral. Cpl. Jason Gray of the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department befriended Sloan and initiated efforts to ensure he receives a proper military send-off. The community's response includes organizing a memorial service with full military honors, reflecting the respect and gratitude for Sloan's service.
