What's Happening?
Scottish students have seen an increase in exam pass rates as they receive their results for Nationals, Highers, Advanced Highers, and Skills for Work Awards. Over 148,000 learners participated, with a record number of vocational and technical qualifications
awarded. This comes after the replacement of the Scottish Qualifications Authority with Qualifications Scotland, following previous controversies. The poverty-related attainment gap has also narrowed compared to the previous year. Additionally, a record number of Scottish students aged 18 and under have been accepted into university or college, with 32,370 students securing places, up from 31,850 in 2025.
