What's Happening?
BrightSide Theatre is set to present a series of free performances featuring Broadway hits at various parks in Naperville, Illinois, this summer. The series, titled 'Summer in the Parks: Classic Broadway,' will kick off on July 9 at the 95th Street Community
Plaza. Additional performances are scheduled at different locations, including Millennium Carillon Amphitheatre and Country Lakes Park, throughout July and August. Meanwhile, road work on Route 59, spanning from McCoy Drive to Artesian Road, is scheduled to begin on July 13 and continue through November. The $4.6 million project will involve patching, resurfacing, and the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, necessitating intermittent lane closures.
Why It's Important?
The BrightSide Theatre performances offer cultural enrichment and community engagement opportunities for Naperville residents, promoting local arts and providing free entertainment. The road work on Route 59 is significant for local infrastructure, aiming to improve road safety and accessibility. However, it may cause temporary inconvenience for commuters due to expected delays and lane closures. The project reflects ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade public infrastructure, which is crucial for supporting local economic activities and ensuring safe transportation routes.
What's Next?
Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend the Broadway performances, which provide a chance to enjoy live theater in a community setting. For those affected by the Route 59 road work, planning alternate routes or allowing extra travel time is advisable. The Illinois Department of Transportation will continue to update the public on the project's progress and any changes in traffic patterns. Community members are also invited to participate in the Naperville Park District's 'Unplug Illinois Day' activities, promoting outdoor recreation and engagement with local parks.
