The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is organizing its annual Sustainable Agriculture Research Tour on August 5 at the Rogers Forage and Crops Research Farm in Old Town. This event is aimed at farmers, agricultural professionals, and community
members interested in sustainable production systems. The tour will feature field research on organic cropping, soil health, forages, agroforestry, and wild blueberries. The event is free and open to the public, with sign-in starting at 1:30 p.m. and the tour running from 2 to 5:45 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture practices and the latest research developments. Refreshments will be provided, and pesticide and certified crop advisor credits are pending approval.
